Pixie Dust Parties was created with one simple idea in mind: bringing high-quality fairytale magic to children’s celebrations, and beautiful, immersive events to the South West.
We provide immersive princess party experiences, creating magical moments filled with storytelling, games, dancing, and unforgettable birthday memories, and west-end level shows and parks-quality events to the local area.
From the moment a princess arrives, a celebration becomes something special; a moment where imagination comes to life and children truly feel like they’ve stepped into a fairytale.
Pixie Dust Parties was created by a lifelong princess lover who believed that everyone deserves to see themselves in the magic, and that anyone can step into the role of a princess.
Representation and imagination sit at the heart of everything we do, because fairytales should feel personal, inclusive, and truly magical for every child. From beautifully crafted costumes to fully in-character performances, every detail is designed to create moments that feel as magical in real life as they do in fairytales.
the girl behind the pixie dust
I’m Lottie, founder and Creative Director of Pixie Dust Parties;
professional theatre-maker, lifelong princess enthusiast, and apparently
someone who has been taking character accuracy far too seriously
since the age of three.
My background is in theatre, music and performance. I have a BAHons
in Music & Drama, I’m a qualified singing teacher, and when I’m not
covered in wig pins or behind a camera, I also work as a writer,
director, and costume designer and the Artistic Director of my own
theatre company.
I also had a Cinderella-themed birthday party when I was three and
insisted that everybody came in movie-accurate costumes.
So 3-year-old me clearly knew a thing or two about the perfect princess party.
When I started Pixie Dust Parties, I knew I didn’t want to create a company where somebody simply put on a beautiful dress, turned up, took a few photos and went home. I wanted to create the kind of princess experience that tiny Lottie would have completely, wholeheartedly believed in and adored.
I’ve always loved that strange bit of magic you get in theatre and immersive performance, where, logically, you know there’s a performer standing in front of you, but for a little while you completely forget. Children are especially brilliant at that. Give them enough detail, enough care, and enough sincerity, and suddenly they’re not talking to somebody dressed as a fairytale character. They’re meeting the princess.
That’s the feeling I built Pixie Dust Parties around.
It’s why I care about beautiful costumes, properly styled wigs, and tiny character details, but it’s also why the performance underneath all of that matters even more. How does she speak? How does she move? What happens when a child asks her a completely unexpected question? How does she make the shy child at the back feel just as important as the birthday child at the front? Those are the bits that make the magic feel real.
Pixie Dust Parties is still a small, independent company based in the Bath area, and I actually love that. It means I’m still very much in the middle of everything; developing characters, training performers, planning parties, directing photoshoots, designing experiences and, on occasion, getting to be a princess myself. And as we grow, that’s something I never want to lose. I never want Pixie Dust to become a conveyor belt of costumes and bookings. I want families to feel that somebody has genuinely thought about their child, their celebration and the little moments they’re going to remember afterwards.
It was always my dream to be a princess. Now, my dream is to the magic to feel real while it lasts, and for the memory to last much longer.
